01.03.2020; hey! i needed a break from tumblr since i had too much going on, but now that i have just started my masters i’m ready to come back!

how’s things going? here it feels like summer, and i’ve been indulging myself with good food, enjoying the sun and reading a lot in french. this has been the shortest winter ever.

End of the year tag

fluencylevelfrench:

I was tagged by @gwendolynlerman  (thank you for tagging me!)

Best experience this year: seeing Hamilton in London!

Best holiday: my time in Barcelona and also London, not really a holiday but my workwaway experience in France was also really good and fun!

Best thing you learned: everything about Gothic and Dystopian fiction, also English linguistic history and everything about the English kings

Best thing you did/made: getting all of the information for my exams, putting together nice notes and making posts out of it

Something you’re proud of: getting a lot better in French and even getting a good grade in the French exam. Also: graduated, handed in my thesis and getting a good grade.

I tag @frenchy-french, @betterself, @graystudie, @study-harder, @sciogli-lingua everyone who wants to do this!

It looks like 2019 was a wonderful year for you 💕 Thanks for the tag!!!

to everybody who commented here, i’m definitely doing that post! i was waiting until i finished a couple of courses to be able to give you an even more in-depth review, but it will be coming soon!

Hello everyone! This is my first official post on Tumblr ever so I guess I should introduce myself :)

My name is Alison and I’m going to be graduating high school and finally entering the university world that I’ve been preparing for. Obviously my dream is to become a vet so I will be going down that path and I’ll be posting about my successes and failures as well as just everyday life too!

22.12.2019; took the executive decision of re-reading ‘the lord of the rings’, since it’s been a decade since i did. i want to relax for a bit these following days to make up for the madness of christmas.

Hi! Just a quick question, how did you make your mug cake?

Anonymous

It’s pretty easy! You just need a not-too-small mug and to mix these ingredients:

  • one egg, mixed, which i do directly in the mug.
  • one big spoonful of flour.
  • one spoonful of sugar.
  • one spoonful of chocolate powder (i simply use nesquick and put a little bit less sugar since it’s already sweetened).
  • one spoonful of oil (almost any flavour works, i use olive oil because i’m spanish but it isn’t the greatest since it has so much flavour).
  • one spoonful of milk (almost any type works, i use oat milk).
  • the tiniest pinch of salt.

It takes about one minute to prepare! You can also add the following:

  • the tiniest pinch of baking powder/soda. i don’t have any so i never add it and the texture stays great, but it could be useful for extra-fluffiness. however i would advice you to use a bigger mug in case it makes it rise a lot and overflows on the microwave, since mug-cakes are a pain to clean!
  • some solid chocolate to bury in the middle of the mixture. it melts inside the cake and takes it to another level. i’ve tried it with chocolate spread, regular chocolate and chocolate sweets, but it could work with other things like even fruit!

When you have your mixture ready you just have to microwave it for about two minutes.

Other tips! Look at your batter before you microwave it: does it cover half of the mug? use a bigger mug or even a bowl; is it too runny? maybe the egg was too big, fix it by adding some more flour. And if after the two minutes in the microwave have passed your cake still looks uncooked, microwave it for 20-30 seconds at the time until it looks like cake.
